Happy New Year!

Hopefully I will start posting more with the New Year... It's been busy around the holidays, and we have had sick kids, so I haven't had much time to do the blog thing. Have a Happy New Year! HB

New phone incoming? Blackberry incoming?

Its possibly true, I will swing by VZW on Friday, and pick up a Pearl to see if it will fit my needs. I have been freaked out by this for months now, just wondering if the Pearl would work out for me, or if I need a full on Windows Mobile 6 phone. Over this time, I have figured out a few things... I need Opera Mini 4 to work, SMS and MMS better work good, and email with Gmail should kick butt without crazy changes. Otherwise I am golden.... WM6 doesn't do anything that PPC2003 didn't do ... Wow, the wife will be pissed if I change platforms though. Hoby

New Gadget incoming - HP Mediasmart Home Server

Next week I should be taking ownership of a HP Mediasmart Windows Home Server to replace my highly regarded Infrant ReadyNAS. I will miss the ReadyNAS and some of the features it gave me for storage and access to my digital media, but the new box has new tricks up its sleeves that outweigh what I will be missing. The fact I will be able to have autobackup of all my Windows systems, share media to my ps3, Xbox 360, and any Upnp clients will be nice. (not that ReadyNAS couldn't do that mind you...) The set and forget nature of the Windows 2003 Server based WHS box from HP is nice. Plus remote access to files and computers is also handy for me. Expect more info in the coming weeks.
