Halo 3 tonight!

I can't wait, but I am not looking forward to standing in line. The way it works with Gamestop is that we can come in between 9-12am and get stamped, and then head back at midnight to pick up our copy. I am hoping that process goes fairly quick... I already took tomorrow off so it's gonna be a late night! HB

Update on my Samsung i760...

So far so good! I am really liking the new phone with Windows Mobile 6. I have been using it, and tweaking, and so far no big issues! It has been fun getting used to the new keyboard and button placement. I did find out that I am extremely lucky though... Only 40 of these leaked out of Verizon, some people were fired, and its probably not coming out until some time in October now! I even saw reports of one man who had VZW recall his Fedex shipment! Maybe I should have put it up on Ebay like the guy that is asking $1200 for one... ;) HB

My Samsung SCH-i760 will be in my hands tomorrow!

I remember posting that the Samsung SCH-i760 would be my next phone nearly a year ago now! Well, I got lucky, was able to get my order in, and it will be here tomorrow! A few other lucky people were able to order also, before Verizon decided to shut down any further ordering and removed the SKU from their systems and laid down the law! So, everyone else will have the opportunity to order this after the 24th of the month, and should be introduced into retail a few weeks later... Oh, and someone has one listed on Ebay... for $1499.99! HB

My mp3 player choice conundrum is settled!

I ended up selling 3 of my mp3 players to purchase two, but I ended up settling on two iPods finally. I did this for two reasons. One is that I have a zillion accessories to choose from, and two was capacity.

I purchased a new blue 8 gig iPod nano for the wife, since I sold her old iPod mini, and all I can say is WOW! This thing is cool, sleek, and its just amazing when you hold it. Its truly a miniature version of the regular iPod, and the updated interface is awesome!

I also picked up a silver 160 gig iPod classic for myself. I didn't really need web browsing, or the touch interface when I am driving, and I did want lots of room, and I will have about 100 gig to spare when I sync my entire collection.

I cancelled my iPod Touch order!

Yes, I cancelled it. It's probably a good thing that it was only available for pre-order, because after mulling it over a few times, I decided that 16 gigs just won't cut it, and since there is no bluetooth either, the web browsing would only be a novelty when I am used to have internet everywhere on my Verizon PDA phone.

So now what?

Who knows! Hopefully Verizon will get some new phones released, and I will see if I can live with using my phone as an MP3 player, and hold out for a larger hard drive based iPod touch... For now I am clearing out all my used mp3 players, and playing the waiting game...

Silly MS-DOS 5 Promo Video

Dear god I can't believe they actually created this video...

Yes, I ordered an iPod touch!

Because we can't have iPhones here in BFE, I did the next best thing and pre-ordered a new iPod Touch!

The wifi part was the deal sealer to me, and I will learn to live with only 16 gigs of flash-based storage.

Hopefully I will post a small review after I recieve it... As it stands, it looks like that won't be until the beginning of October!

That is actually a blessing in disguise though, as it gives me time to "ebay" a few items! :)

At some point in time, I would also like to upgrade the wife's first generation iPod nano as well. The new nanos look pretty darn awesome with their new wide high-res screens!

Call of Duty 4 thoughts...

Okay, after all the fiasco of trying to get my beta token, Infinity Ward came through and hooked us up! Over the weekend, I played solo and with some friends, and can say that this game is a must-have if you like multiplayer fps games. It has game play that will totally take you back to the days of COD and COD 2, although with updated weapons and tactics.

We played the three available maps, and all leveled up to the current limit of 11, in no time at all, and had a blast doing so! The create-a-player is pretty cool, and tweaking your player with "perks" is fun as well!

Again, this game is a must have, and with Halo 3 competing for online time with it, I can say that it will be a great time to own an Xbox 360!
